Hmm. If only there were someone–young, energetic, knowledgeable, feminist, funny, charming, with a good health background–that we could nominate. Hmm. I just can’t think of who would be perfect for the job. Whose photo is right there to the right. We would for sure miss you, but you could be the first blogging head of HHS!

Can we stuff the ballot box?

Perhaps we should consider ex governer of Oregon John Kitzhaber, MD. He did a lot for the Oregon Health Plan. He is an excellent public speaker. He may be as knowledgable about public health issues as any potential candidate. He was in the running for Interior Secretary.

I was disappointed when I found out that Tom Daschle withdrew his name from nomination. I thought because of thirty years of fighting for health care for people who couldn’t afford it that he would be a great Secretary of Health and Human Services. But that’s not going to happen so I would like to see Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) as Secretary of Health and Human Services because he is a 5 term senator who is currently a member of the United States Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and shares my view on Health care
