Comparing the Candidates’ Records
February 27, 2008
In this election season, you may want to check out the candidates’ histories of proposed legislation. The Library of Congress offers a free online legislative database, THOMAS, that makes browsing bills by sponsor very easy to do. On the homepage, you can simply select the Senator’s name and click “go” to view the list of bills for which s/he was the sponsor. Be aware that there are typically numerous pages per legislator, so make sure to click the “Next Page” link at the bottom of your search results to keep browsing.
