Another Look at Vaginal Cosmetic Surgery

September 6, 2007

Heather at Scarleteen has a full and frank commentary on the “vaginal rejuvenation”-type surgeries we talked about last week. You have to love a post that asserts, “vulvas are gorgeous and cool and amazing in their diversity,” so head on over and read the rest.

Heather also has an amazing new book, S.E.X., out, which I’ll review in full in the coming days.

Hm, I took a quick look at the site’s bc page and I noticed a lot of misinformation (IUD indication, ectopic risk, patch risk, etc.). Odd, since one of the listed sources is Hatcher.

In any case, if you know the people in charge maybe you can suggest a revision of the bc table.

Are there specific items in the chart that are jumping out at you?

Hey Ema: it’s important to us to be accurate, so by all means, do let me know what seems problematic to you (bearing in mind, too, that our information is for teens, so some info on certain methods — like the IUD — is sometimes different for them than info for fully adult women).

Indeed, vulvas are gorgeous and cool and amazing and don’t know what else in their diversity. I have been married 12 years ago and have two kids and have had my vaginal plastic surgery done six months ago in NY and am enjoying almost every alternate night with my husband. The surgery does put in a sense of higher self esteem in you and I won’t mention what effects it has on your partner.
