Awareness and testing are key today. HIV is very difficulty for all who have it. Inequalities do seem to occur for some women and children and I imagine it would be very difficult. An estimated 33 million people have HIV but on 4 million are receiving treatment –

Hello Rachel,
I recently came across your blog and enjoy it very much. I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Matthew Walker CHC on Jefferson St. I just wanted to mention to you that we offer free HIV screens at all times, and I believe that the Lentz HD does as well. We offered free mammograms throughout the month of October and will be offering a limited number of free pap smears in January (Cervical Cancer Awareness month). I don’t mean this to be an advertisement, but rather just so that people who need these services realize that there are places like us who work with people who cannot afford to pay.
Hope this helps!
