Ha, that’s bound to be effective, right? Just learned (Via Aunt B at Tiny Cat Pants) that a bomb threat was called in to a Memphis, TN abortion clinic last night. It was obviously scary and disruptive and required the services of a bomb squad & their robot, although they don’t seem to have found anything (that’s been reported, anyway).
Tiller, TVUUC, the Holocaust Museum…enough already. I can’t embed them here, but the Rachel Maddow Show has been talking a lot about the Tiller murder, the Museum and related issues. Here’s one clip worth watching, in which she talked with Susan Hill from the National Women’s Health Foundation about the threats providers have been experiencing.

From your mouth/keys to….whose ears? Sheesh, I wish it was that easy!
I am sure that bomb threat was encourage by Tiller’s clinic closing due to the murder. A little taste of success can be inspiring.
My requests for a magic wand keep getting declined… And, yes, the emboldening power of a small measure of “success” is definitely something to worry about. Ugh.
It can be very hard to explain what is going on in the world to my two young daughters. I read somewhere (Huffington Post?) that hate crimes may be going up with Obama in office. The haters feel they are losing power, so they do what they do best to get a point across, violence.
I think Maddow covered that issue, too. I’m sure it is hard to explain to your daughters – hope they’re coping well.
