Commenting Now Open on Proposed HHS Regulation
Note: this post was published on 8/26, but I’m going to try to keep it up top as a reminder.
The public comment period on the controversial HHS “conscience” proposal is officially open starting today, and you can submit comments here via the Regulations.gov system. Just click on the yellow “Add comments” bit to leave your official comment, or click on the HTML or PDF icon by “Views” to read the proposed regulation text. Please be aware that your comment is public; try to make your comments as concise, professional and specific as possible. Commenting opens today and closes on 09/22/2008.
Options for comment submission, just in case you want to do it another way:
You may submit comments in one of four ways (no duplicates, please):
1. Electronically. You may submit electronic comments on this regulation to http://www.Regulations.govor via e-mail to consciencecomment@hhs.gov. To submit electronic comments to http:// www.Regulations.gov, go to the Web site and click on the link Comment or Submission and enter the keywords provider conscience. (Attachments should be in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, or Excel; however, we prefer Microsoft Word.)2. By regular mail. You may mail written comments (one original and two copies) to the following address only: Office of Public Health and Science, Department of Health and Human Services, Attention: Brenda Destro, Hubert H. 3. By express or overnight mail. Am I the only one having a problem accessing the comment link? It was open before. Now, it isn’t. We are holding a meeting to make a comment today. Sheeeesh.
