The Birth Story I’ve Been Anticipating For Months

Posted by Rachel on March 3, 2008

Nashville blogger “W” and his wife welcomed twin babies into the world at the beginning of this year, and I’ve been checking his blog every week since in anticipation of the birth story. W is an engineer, and I absolutely knew that his account would be full of details and really describe the process from labor to birth, and that it would appeal to this geology major/medical librarian/all-around-nerd. He didn’t disappoint, and amidst apgars, BPs, and central lines, provides you with lines like these:

“The babies were like bad renters. Causing problems to everyone around them, but thriving and not willing to leave until someone made them.”
“This time we were feeling cynical and didn’t bring most of our hospital kit of clothes and comfort items. That’s your first clue that this trip to the hospital is different.”

Go read parts 1, 2, and 3. Apparently W needed a trilogy to tell us about little Luke and Leia.

I hadn’t thought about how well the trilogy of posts fits with their names. LOL.

Strangely enough, The Mrs didn’t appreciate the bad renters line when she read it. I laughed for at least 10 solid minutes when I wrote it.
