ACOG’s “Conscience” Statement on Refusing Care Due to Religious Beliefs

Posted by Rachel on December 17, 2007

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has released a statement on “conscientious refusal in reproductive medicine,” intended to guide providers and spurred on by incidents of contraception, abortion, and fertility treatment refusals. Naturally, anti-choice groups (many of whom are *not* professional medical organizations) have written ACOG a letter asking that it be withdrawn. Find out more, with links to the statement and response documents, in my post at Our Bodies Our Blog.
