Pregnant? Maybe You Should Get Plastic Surgery For That Unsightly Belly Fat

Posted by Rachel on September 28, 2007

From the “WTF is Wrong With People?!?” files:

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing a Pittsburgh-area plastic surgery firm (Premier Plastic Surgery) for discrimination on behalf of Erin Griggle, who reportedly was fired two weeks after telling her employers she was pregnant, and was told to suck in her belly to avoid upsetting the patients.

Right, because plastic surgery patients are so stupid that they can’t recognize pregnancy, and pregnancy-based discrimination is totally cool. Because “pregnant” and “ugly and scary” are definitely the same thing. Argh.

Thank goodness we have the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I didn’t even know they existed, but now that I know, I’m glad they do.

  2. This is absurd. Just because they are offering cosmetic surgeries to their clients, they expect all their staffs to be free from belly fat. It is not wrong to be pregnant and don’t blame it on belly fat. Where is the compassion these days? Are we still human?
