Missed Conceptions
I’ve been planning to post a list of miscarriage-related blogs for a while now, but there is one I want to go ahead and share, Missed Conceptions. The author writes about her journey in trying to conceive, a process that began in March of ’06 and has included two miscarriages. One minute you get this,
Guess what arrived in the mail today? Well, Satan’s henchmen were hard at work, publishing yet another issue of Enfamil: Family Beginnings and making sure that it arrived on schedule in my mailbox. Inside are important articles that every depressed/anxious woman who just had two miscarriages needs to read: “See What I Can Do!” (um, live more than I few weeks?); “Finding the Perfect Babysitter” (… “For Your Animals While You Are Having Your D&C”); “Let The Games Begin” (… you mean like going to a specialist to find out what the hell is wrong?).
and the next gives you this – “Contrary to the posters of the smiling babies and the big banners that read ‘BABY SALE’ all over the front of the store, they do not actually sell babies at BabiesRUs. Bastards.” – or refers to the transvaginal ultrasound as “the dildo-cam.” Her writing is both heartbreaking and hilarious, and I can’t look away. I just spent an hour catching up on posts I’d missed. Go check it out; you might want to start at the beginning and work your way to the present if you too become a fan.
